Rapid Victory
With three hours of practice a day, the JV and Varsity Field Hockey teams provided tough competition for their opponents.  Their strong camaraderie and teamwork enhanced their playing, but above all, practice made perfect!  Although the varsity team lost in the first round of CIF, the effort was not left untold.  After a full game and ten-minute overtime, they held a tie with Mira Mesa at 0-0.  Even after two rounds of strokes the teams remained tied 1-1.  The game ended with sudden death strokes.  To the dismay of the Varsity Field Hockey Team, the season was over when Mira Mesa scored the game-winning point.

The TPHS Field Hockey Archives were assembled in 2008 in an attempt to document the history of the Torrey Pines Field Hockey Program. Unfortunately we didn't have a team website prior to 2003 (with the exception of a student-created website of the 2000 season). The Archives were created by the efforts of Joe Yogerst, Kari DiGiulio, Analia Carlson and George Wiley. Former players, parents of players and coaches: to please send us whatever information that might have from the past that could help us fill in the missing years!
